Don and Jerry shared the very same fact with us on NESN last night...

My favourite McCarver moment during the the Yankees / Mets game was in the 7th inning, with pitcher Dae-Sung Koo at the plate. No sooner had McCarver uttered the words "I think we can safely say that this [lefty Koo vs. lefty Randy Johnson] is the biggest 'give-up' at-bat of the year" than Koo whacked a mighty double to the wall in center. And then to cap off his great day, he scored from second on a sacrifice bunt when the Yankees failed to cover the plate.

May 20th, 2001, Tek hit three homers inone day, and then only 3 weeks later broke his elbow diving for a foul ball at Fenway - a game I was at. Hell of a week for him.

I watched that Koo inning/AB... that was some truly enertaining baseball. Looks like he was actually out at the plate, but... man, how much would I pay to have seen the look on McCarver's face when he hit that double?
