"They've been throwing the ball around like it's the circus this inning"--Jerry Remy
What do you think? Worst game since Game 3? Worst game, at least since last July 1. Remember that one?
I don't know what was the worst part. So I'll open the floor. Was it:
a) David Wells being the first Red Sox starter in 11 games not to make it through 6? When the last starter not to make it through 6 was Matt Clement after a rain delay?
b) Dale Sveum letting Jason Varitek get cut down at the plate?
c) Derek Jeter playing as if on wires while the Sox embarrassed themselves, leading to predictable broadcast fellatio on many airwaves?
d) The entire sixth inning?
e) The fact that Yankees fans are actually going to gloat about this?
f) The fact that we got to the MFY middle relief, which actually gave us a futile sense of hope?
g) Aaron Smalls going an entirely undeserved 7-0?
h) The fact that, as a clean-shaven Alan Embree pitched for the MFY, it was as if we'd entered an evil, nightmare parallel universe?
i) Jason Varitek grounding into a double play with the bases loaded in the seventh?
j) Robinson Cano and Matt Lawton making approximately 22,438 errors between the two of them and the Sox capitalizing on absolutely none of them?
None of the above?
All of the above?
You tell me. Just how bad WAS this game?
