We have a 1 in 9 chance of being out of the playoffs this weekend. That's what's really important, isn't it?
Also, I don't think I've ever loathed FOX so much--and that's really saying something. The switch over to the Indians / White Sox game, especially in the East Coast markets, was absolutely unconscionable. A new low for an already completely shitty sports station.
And finally, I've said it a million times before, but I'll say it again. A national sports network broadcasting into different market should at least give the appearance of trying to make an effort not to be CLEARLY rooting for one team. Therefore, gloating about the Yankees' "division championship" before either of the deciding games is actually over should probably not be done.
Both of these things are only allowed to continue because they have the only broadcast rights to these games. They have a monopoly--there's no alternative. And so we are told which game we'd prefer to watch and forced to put up with the worst sports commentary in the history of the sport from Tim McCarver, who frankly must have blackmail photos of Rupert Murdoch in order to still have a job in broadcasting. He's an idiot, no one in his audience can stand him, he sucks at his job and has nothing remotely useful to say, and yet he still has a job. Why? Because FOX has a monopoly.
No wonder they love the Yankees.
