Is it just me, or did every member of the Red Sox lineup strike out looking at least twice per game during the Anaheim series? It felt like I was watching a Boston batsman get rung up every inning. Some of the players seemed less than thrilled with the umpiring, but I mean, really. It happened so often and to so many Red Sox hitters, I think there was plenty of blame to go around.
I wouldn't go so far as to say I dislike this year's team...but I'm getting REALLY, REALLY sick of their woeful road trips. I'm getting REALLY, REALLY sick of the same team that orchestrates brilliant comebacks and thrashing blowouts against opponents at Fenway suddenly looking like they have no idea what a bat is for when they wear grey uniforms.
It's been most of the season so far, nobody seems to have a definitive answer for why they suck so hard on the road*, and it's getting to the point where they're either going to fix this limp offense and the gaping, yawning, slime-encrusted holes in our bullpen, or they won't. If it turns out to be the latter, I'm definitely skipping all further West Coast road trips from here to the end of the season, because it is not worth the fatigue and aggravation.
Also, it's a good thing cooler heads than me control the roster, because if it was up to me, Manny Delcarmen would already have been left out on Lansdowne St. with a cardboard sign that says FOR SALE $1.00
*I'm aware, in case anyone was going to rush to point it out, that they did, in fact, win a game last night against the worst team in baseball, but as far as I'm concerned, that was the absolute rock-bottom least they could've done.
