Bec-kett Boot Camp (clap clap clap-clap-clap).

It's the only explanation.

A couple of weeks ago, Tito was interviewed during the pre-game on the radio and he said that Beckett has really influenced Lester in terms of his pitching style as well as his on-field demeanor. So, there you have it, straight out of the manager's mouth.

Ahh, as if one Beckett wasn't enough, now we have the golden-haired version ... *sigh*

you see, this is what happens when you spend as much time as i do overanalyzing josh beckett. :) thanks for backing me up! wish i'd seen that press conf...i'll see if i can find a link or something.

It wasn't a press conference, but just Joe Castiglione interviewing Tito before a game on WRKO. I wish I would have taped it - Tito went on about how Lester has learned from Beckett about pitching - not just throwing - but also how to deal with umps and demeanor and the like. I just about fell out of my chair when I heard it.
And I'm like you. I overanalyze Beckett way too much ...
