An amazing comeback in Game 5 to send the series back to the other city, achieved with a walkoff single.
A game 6 started by a pitcher who, though a seasoned postseason warrior, is obviously physically diminished.
A homer from a hitter who otherwise has been disparaged of late to take the lead.
All hands on deck for Game 7.
Could it be...again?
I'm all but speechless here.
Let's not forget the humble pie: Lester also was shelled his last time out in this series. And he doesn't have the track record Josh does. Papelbon is clearly beaten up--his fastball topped out at 91 tonight. And the Sox stranded a small village on base.
And really, who could just expect lightning to strike, not once, not twice, but three times?
But what do I know. This time around, I swear to God I never thought we'd be here--even if we were just here last year.
P.S. Uncharacteristically calm Josh in postgame press conference. Actually, he kind of looks and sounds sedated. I really want to know what the heck the deal is with him.
