But for this weekend, at least, we feast. On Yankees bullpen pitching, which they didn't think to spend any of that $423 million in free agency to improve.

A point which apparently didn't occur to Buck & McCarver, who kept harping on about the poor old Yankees and their bullpen woes.

Oh, the irony...

What worries me about this pattern is that, as we've seen so far this season, an offense that relies on power hitters coming through for table-setters can be VERY feast or famine. We could be in for a lot of LOB this season.

But the thing is, we don't have just a few power guys on this team. Every guy batting 4 through 7 is a legitimate power threat, and right now, a pretty good OBP machine as well. Once the top of the order starts kicking into high gear, this offense will really start humming. . . .

Yeah, but don't be surprised when there are more weeks like the first week of this season, too. That's all I'm sayin'.
