It's still so early for baseball, Josh Beckett hasn't yet gotten back from his "special off-season training retreat"(see above*), and today's slush storm in Boston doesn't exactly let you smell the peanuts and Cracker Jack in the air just yet, either.
But forget about prognosticatory rodents. Around here, our sign of early spring has 18 wheels and hauls a load of baseball equipment over highways from Massachusetts to Florida. A very happy Truck Day, one and all!

* Artist's rendition of Josh Beckett fighting giant cobra created by the inimitable Sam, over MANY PAINSTAKING HOURS just for me (!!), and so if you even think about stealing it or using it without permission, I WILL find you and I will cut you. That is all.

The truck will be passing within 2 miles of my house on I-95, somewhere between 9 and 10 PM I would guess. But I sort of feel like some of the commenters over at Soxaholix about it. When is was sort of an inside joke it was more fun.

Truth. But also, it gave me an excuse to post a drawing of JOSH BECKETT FIGHTING A GIANT COBRA on this blog. So it's a red-letter day for me anyway. :)

I just want to make sure everyone notes the CAMO BACKPACK.

Noted and appreciated. I think my absolute favorite part of this, though, is the fiendish smile on his face while battling a giant cobra. Because of course he would be smiling, and just like that, in such a situation. OF COURSE.
