Reports are coming in that former Cardinals reliever Julian Tavarez has signed a two year deal with the Red Sox. So far the reviews of this deal are positive.
Evan Brunell loves it. "This is another move that stockpiles a bullpen already including additions Guillermo Mota and Rudy Seanez, along with Timlin and Foulke."
SF loves it: "Another piece of evidence that the Red Sox are smartly building a deep team. Seems like a nice pickup on paper."
OverTheMonster seems to agree with Rotoworld's position that the Sox will now flip Guillermo Mota for a CF or SS.
Call me an incorrigible pessimist, but I can't help but think--isn't this the guy who broke his hand on the bullpen phone last year, and gave up the tying run of WS Game 2 to Mark Bellhorn?
