First of all, Adalius Thomas was the key acquisition. Meriweather was the key draft pick. Moss is on a crowded receiver roster, he's great but he's not the key. Secondly, lots of players get injured before the season starts. Lots don't. Wilfork played his rookie season, the same season Watson was sidelined. Warren played his rookie season. Jackson didn't. Other teams (e.g. Cleveland) are far more star-crossed.

True chance always creates the semblance of a pattern.
