Bill Belichick sat down with CBS's Armen Keteyian to discuss Spygate and Matt Walsh. Belichick was about as fired up as he's going to get in public, and was very adament about who and what Walsh was and wasn't to him and the team. You can view the video of the interview at the Patriots' website. Here are some highlights:
Belichick on Walsh:
"I don't know what his agenda is, and again, he was fired for poor job performance. There's not a lot of credibility. You know he's tried to make it seem like we're buddies and belong to the same book club and all that. And that's really a long, long stretch. For him to talk about game-planning and strategy and play-calling and how he advised co-ordinators, is - it's embarrassing; it's absurd. He didn't have any knowledge of football. He was our third video assistant."
One statement made by Walsh was that he was instructed on how to avoid detection while filming. Here is Belichick's response:
"I never told anybody to do that. All I can tell you is what the facts are. You look at the tape. You see him filming the game. You tell me how discreet it is."
He's got a point there. It's pretty hard to be discreet standing with everyone on the sideline, wearing Patriots' gear and holding a video camera. It was nice to see Belichick answer the statements made by Walsh. It's about time somebody fought back. As I've said before, I'm pretty tired of the whole thing, with nothing really new coming out of the Matt Walsh thing. Is it training camp yet?

that was a fascinating interview. keteyian clearly grilled him as hard as he knew how, and belichick just plain stood up to it. to some beat writers, that's gotta be frustrating...

Hi folks. If you want to read the entire interview, you can do it at this website:

There's alot of extra stuff in there that wasn't in the piece aired by CBS. I know I'm biased but it doesn't seem like there was any intent to deceive and BB makes alot of good points of signals being available to the 70,000 people in the stadium. Check it out. I think it really minimizes what happened.
