It helps me get through series like the one we're in the process of dropping to the White Sox.
He hasn't looked like a very happy camper whenever he's been asked about Manny's contract situation, but yesterday on the bases he showed once again why he's one of the best-liked players in baseball. My favorite moment was when he grabbed Juan Uribe by the jersey at third base and pulled him over for a bear hug and some conversation. This is the kind of thing - that momentary laugh and little mental vacation he gives you, just by being him - that I missed so much while he was on the DL.
Now we've dropped a second game on the South Side? Wake to the DL with shoulder stiffness? Clay Buccholz continues to collapse like a house of cards for at least one innning of each of his starts?
We've got Papi back. No problem, bro.
Holy Crap. Is this a race with Yanks, Twinkies and Pale Hose to see who will be the wild-card bitches to the Rays? What year is this? How long have I been asleep? Next thing we'll hear is Brett Farve playing QB for the Jets. Oh wait...
