As the NY Post put it when this happened to Joba Chamberlain earlier this season, "The road from the Carl Pavano Memorial MRI tube to Dr. James Andrews isn't a path a pitcher wants to travel."
And yet that's exactly the road our ace, our best weapon, our master of the postseason, our Commander Kickass, is now traveling, instead of starting for the Sox tonight.
Let us pray.
Update: It appears the shrines to Jobu all over RSN helped out - Beckett apparently was found to be fine. Reports are he will start Friday. We can all now resume our regularly scheduled lives. Or at least, I can.
