A few weeks ago, in a moment of frustration following the Patriots' hideous loss to the Saints, I wrote the following:
We're at the point in the season when team identities are starting to form, and while the Saints are looking downright magical, the Patriots seem to be establishing themselves in the middle of the pack -- over .500 and capable of beating up on bad teams, but not flying among the class of the league this year. There will be no Comeback Player of the Year Award for Brady, as New England fans may have fantasized before the season began. And it's even beginning to feel like the zeitgest of the league has begun moving away from us, to the west, and south.
I think it was during that same game that I said Brady was injured enough that him playing was hurting the team.
Being wrong sometimes feels good!
Tom Brady will go down as one of the toughest QB's ever. I think even Steve Grogan is getting jealous of how tough Tom Brady is.

He *did* set the team record for most consecutive starts before the knee injury... :)
Dude is def. tough. He has the 'pretty boy' image but we've seen him play through some pretty grim stuff, like a sports hernia (similar injury sent Donovan McNabb to IR) and separated throwing shoulder.

I believe Brady is one tough son of a gun. He plays hurt all of the time. This year is no exception. Having your ribs hurt (broken cracked, bruised etc)make throwing and running VERY difficult. Make no mistake he has taken MORE then his share of hits this season. Award well deserved.
